After joining the Navy in 2008, Will had to take a break from regular martial arts training for a few years. After leaving the Navy he moved to Tyler Texas, where he co-founded East Texas Historical Fencing in 2015. Here he studied and trained in Fiore's Armizare, a historical style of fencing and wrestling as taught by a 15th century Master at Arms. In 2017 ETHF became a daughter school of the Chicago Swordplay Guild, where he obtained additional mentorship and curriculum building.

In 2018 Will moved to Dallas where he founded the Dallas Renaissance Sword Guild. Here he chose to study the Bolognese Tradition of the 16th Century. A style that focuses heavily on the single handed sword and companion weapons.
